Monday Motivation: SOS It’s Monday – Top 5 Ways to Take Back Your Monday

Monday has been marked with the hatred stamp! People are always complaining about Monday.

“I can’t believe it’s already Monday, ugh.”

“Ugh it’s Monday.”

“I’ve got the case of the Mondays.”

We are setting ourselves up to fail before Monday even starts. This mental filter prevents us from accepting Monday and this belief that Monday is the enemy is preventing you from greatness.

Here are 5 ways to start taking back your Monday and make it a day for reaching your goals:

#1 – Monday Mindshift: there is a social message that Monday’s can’t be tolerated. We say it all the time. Ugh it’s Monday. This is us getting all in our feelings but it sets us up to only pay attention to the stuff that tells us to crawl back in bed and close the door on Monday. Change your self talk. Instead say to yourself, Monday is an opportunity! Monday is a fresh start! Monday is just Monday.
Monday is not the bad guy. Our perspective is sabotaging us!

#2 – Practice Mindfulness: practice a recharge or Mindfulness exercise to refocus and get into the new mindset or even practice throughout your day as you commit yourself to the changed mindset. Take 5 mins to practice. Start by taking 3 deep cleansing breaths, then allow your breath to go back to a natural rhythm and just observe your physical body, your thoughts, your emotion without judging. Acknowledge where judgement and emotional thinking are creating blocks to being effective on Monday. Regroup and choose how you will take care of yourself and take back Monday!

#3 – Keep up with Physical Health: Make sure you are eating well, staying hydrated, keeping your health in check, exercising, and sleeping 😀 Your physical health is important to your mental well being!!

#4 Actively change your Emotion: a playlist helps – KLOVE is my jam and I get a ton of positivity to kick off my am. Give a smile. Yes, I know… you don’t “feel like it”. Do it anyway. Make the choice- choose happy.

#5 Personal Development: Get busy with personal growth to support proactive thinking. Throw in some personal development on your commute or while you get ready in the morning. There are so many podcasts, Youtube Channels, audible books, etc. Darren Daily, Ted Talks, The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy, Journey to the Heart by Melodie Beattie are a few of my favorites.

So,  use these 5 tips and take back your Monday! You deserve it!
